Our beautiful chain of lakes provides a unique connection of 10 pristine water bodies linked by navigable channels. With over 4,200 acres, the chain is perfect for leisure boating, watersports, and fishing. In the fall of 2010, a new culvert and bridge on Alder Lake Road are to be constructed giving all-boat passage between Wild Rice Lake and the Trout River Channel. Currently, only small boats are able to pass under this bridge. For information about this project, please contact the Town office at 715-543-8400.
New Wisconsin Boating Regulation for 2010: It is illegal to operate a motorboat at greater than slow-no-wake speed within 100 feet of the shoreline of all lakes. Wisconsin boating regs can be reviewed at www.dnr.wi.gov or stop by the Chamber for a regulations booklet. The Town of Manitowish Waters does employ a water patrol officer on the 10-lake chain. The Town of Manitowish Waters' boating ordinance states that waterski hours are from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
