Ahh!  Winter in the Northwoods of Wisconsin!  We invite you to explore the many trail systems throughout our town and region.

1/28/2012 - Discovery Center trails were groomed today (classic skiing only) and are in great shape. Powell Marsh trails were groomed on the 24th and are accessible from Hwy 51 to Powell Marsh Rd. The parking lot is set off of Powell Marsh Rd., about 4 miles off Hwy 51 and past the main overlook. The warming hut restrooms on the Discovery Center grounds are open 7 days a week -- help yourself to some cookies and hot cocoa while you're there. Donations always appreciated:)

Madeline Trail - 1/28/2012  All loops groomed.  Very good conditions
 
Escanaba Trail -  1/28/2012 All loops leveled and groomed. Good to very good conditions.
 
Raven Trail - 1/31/2012  All loops groomed.   Very good conditions.
 
McNaughton Trail - 1/31/2012  All loops groomed.  Very good conditions.

North Lakeland Discovery Center Single track 12 mile trail system; 2 miles of snowshoe trails.  Donations appreciated.  Kid & adult snowshoes available for rent from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mon - Sat at the main office.  First come, first served.  Rental fee: $5 per pair.  The Discovery Center is located 1.25 miles N of Hwy. 51 on Hwy. Powell Trails: State Forest trail system; single track set by Discovery Center volunteer groomers.  Call 715-543-2085 for more information.  Small parking area and trailhead are located 6 miles from Hwy. 51 on Powell Road, or one-half mile from Hwy. 47 on Powell Road.  www.discoverycenter.net

North Lakeland School:  Single track set by Northwoods Ski Touring Association volunteer groomers.  Begin on west side of North Lakeland School (12686 Hwy. K) at north end of football field, or from the trailhead located one mile north of Hwy.
